Detroit City Supporter Radio

Episode 33 - The Big Q&A One.

Episode Summary

Dusting off the equipment after an extended period, Dion and Sean do their best to answer listener questions submitted before recording. We discuss CITY's move to USL, what it means for the club, the players, Keyworth, NISA, other parties, etc.

Episode Notes

The list of questions we got and answered pretty in order.

USL stuff

@jdavidson1: How does ‘the market’ view USLC v NISA. More sponsorship opportunities? Is it considered a higher league? Will it boost attendance?

@jgbrass: Wants us to give a “lay of the land” description of USL - who’s the best clubs,etc.. Also asks what tactical adjustments we are likely to have to make.

@taco: word is that USL2 perception as higher level than NPSL/MWPL hurt our recruiting. Thinking forward to USLW, is that likely to now help us v UWS?

@RyMcT jokes “when can we expect our ‘selling out’ checks”

@ThaBlackUnicorn: Which USL mascot do we want to see Friendly fight?

Segue to pure City stuff with

@jdavidson1: International friendly speculation
@taco: bigger budgets for intl friendlies? Higher stature?

CITY CITY FUCKIN CITY

@taco: Is new, deep pocketed investor likely to bump up payroll?

@TheJAC33: Who on the current roster are must keeps, who are fine for depth, and who needs a testimonial planned?

@EpeeBill: Do we get a USOC slot next year, or is that rule about not getting a spot after you switch leagues still around?

@taco: U23s on hiatus for a while, what’s up with the academy? Any prospects?

@gusmacker1: Do you think Keyworth will need to be monitored more, or limited a bit to the public, with all the upgrades coming? Will we need to redo the lease since the club has moved up?

@Motorcitymadcat: Will NISA ever get their financial situation in order?
