INTRO/NGS
- WE ARE TIRED ALREADY and it’s just kicking off. Yo so many matches, except maybe not THIS weekend lol - we’ll get to that
- Dion makes impassioned plea for folks to join the fuck in, maybe?
CITY
- Start with women - 2-1 v Muskegon
- City dominant throughout. Played 4-3-3. Very early for a part time team, system very simple.
- First goal, Huge great play, Honeycutt hustle play
- Risers wondergoal ties it
- Taylor volley wins it after a long possession with multiple corners
- Let’s talk players - City has a lot of talent
- Caught my eye: Sarah Huge. Kenna White. Tatiana Mason. Elise Baeron/Margaret Berry CB combo. Marlee Taylor. Madison Duncan. Kayla Halmaghi thundered crossbar late.
- This weekend - away at Lansing
- Lansing an established side, seems to be getting sorted down toward bottom half of UWS Midwest North Conference after losing 4-2 to Midwest Utd and 2-1 to Corktown
- Question is, where do City fall in this pecking order? A discussion
- The men - let’s talk the whole fucking season since it’s been two months now
- Quick recap of us stomping the league
- Style of play has emerged - little less possession oriented but still Trev-ball. Prefer 3-5-2 if we have the defenders, can switch to a 4 if not. Lack of a pacy forward means we have to pick our way
- Defense, of course let’s talk about that defense
- Stevie & Matt
- The unflappable Anthony Manning
- Kevin the ball machine Venegas connecting defense and attack off right wing
- Jimmy more pure winger on left
- Everyone else
- Maxi in the breach
- Growth of game under Trev - both Cyrus and Connor good examples
- Roddy getting minutes
- Up top - let’s talk forwards for a minute
- This weekend - the Stars doubleheader EXCEPT MAYBE NOT because we are teasing it one final time
- But first we detour into a brief discussion of the U23 roster so far, and then get back into their first match, which leads us to episode 31
